Jolie Beth Puente left this world to be with our Heavenly Father in the early morning hours on Monday, June 26, 2023. Jolie was just 45 years old. She was in her bed surrounded by love, next to her husband, Mike Puente, in their home filled with loving family.
Jolie graduated from Duncanville High School, Class of 1996. She then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Texas A&M Commerce. Jolie then followed her passion to teach and was an elementary school teacher for 13 years. She loved working with children, and having summers off wasn't bad either. She truly loved what she did and touched countless hearts and minds of children and their families, throughout her career.
Jolie also loved to go and do, at the drop of a hat. She greatly enjoyed each of the numerous colleagues and friends she made along the way. To know her was to love her. Her incredible smile and positively were infectious. She had a way of making everyone she came into contact with feel special, and always lifted their spirits.
Jolie was a member of Oaks Church in Red Oak for a number of years, where she was active in various groups and assisted with childcare. She loved being at church! She loved worship music and being filled with the Spirit. She and her husband attended Ardent Church together, as a way to share their love for God.
Outside of teaching and church, Jolie loved spending time with family, and did so every chance she got. She loved baking and made the best chocolate chip cookies, ever, for special occasions and often just because. From family dinners to outings, to game nights, it was always family first. She also loved exercise of all kinds: walking, running, hiking, biking. She loved to go do it all! And she loved, loved, loved the beach. The beach was her happy place, and she went as often as possible.
Jolie was an amazing mother. She loved her children passionately and did everything in her power to take care of them and provide for them. She made sure they always knew they were loved. She made every holiday, birthday and accomplishment special for them, in a way that only she could. She was and is a true angel whose presence can be felt, watching over us with love each day.
Jolie is survived by her husband, Michael Edward Puente; Mother Trudy Broussard; Father Jerry Broussard; Stepmother Martina Broussard; Children: Mitchell Dean Broussard, Elle Jolie Bishop, and Anthony Puente; Brother Joseph Rene Broussard; and Sister Danielle Lea Vela; In-laws Eva Diane Burnett and Chris Burnett.
