On October 22, 2020 Johnnie Zapata of Italy, Texas passed in peace at the age of 60.
Johnnie’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile, kind heart, and loving soul brought so much joy to many.
He is survived by his wife Genevieve Torres Zapata.
Loving father of Rosa Perez, and Victor Zapata. Stepfather of Rachel Chavez, and Gabriela Pereyda.
Proud grandfather of Lillianna, Mateo, Zoi, Maddax, Julian, Jaime Jr, Cruz, Armando, Matthew, and Carlos. Great-grandfather to Alice Marie.
Son of Natalio Zapata and brother to Rudy Zapata. Preceded in death by Mother Rosa Garza, sisters Sandy Zapata, Mary Ann Castillo, son Johnny Anthony Zapata and grandsons Ezekiel Perez, and Alex Chavez. Further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Johnnie was born in Ennis, Texas in 1960 and raised in Waxahachie, Texas. He worked 43 years at Owens Corning. He had many hobbies, but his bike club Los Carnales/ y Familia meant the most to him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Funeral Services will be held Saturday November 14, 2020, at 10 a.m., at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 US-287 Business Waxahachie Texas 75165, and burial to follow at Edgewood Cemetery.
