John Walter Banks passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Baylor Scott and White in Waxahachie, Texas. John was born on May 3, 1974, in Dallas, Texas along with his twin brother James Milton Banks to the late Walter Browning (Buddy) and Janice Banks. John graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1992 where he was a member of the Rodeo Team and Future Farmers of America.

John was raised on the family farm and developed a love for agriculture. After graduation he worked for Ray Lynn Campbell of Campbell Farms and close friend Ricky Johnston of Johnston Farms. John later acquired his Commercial Drivers License which led him to a career as a truck driver. His first job was with Boyce Feed and Grain. John then drove for Burleson Honey and his last position was with Pearman Oil and Gas in Waxahachie. John was a powerful speaker and became involved in the ministry. He impacted a large amount of lives as he shared his testimony in many churches in Ellis County.

John is survived by his mother, Janice Banks of Waxahachie. Sister, Beth Johnson and her children Rose and Tyler Johnson and Megan and Chandler Muckleroy of Waxahachie. Sister, Amy and husband Shane Leath and their children Lexie and Jackson Leath of Waxahachie and Georgia Leath of Key West, Florida, and his twin brother Jim Banks and his children Milton and Nicky Banks of Waxahachie, William Lane of Blanco and Bryce Dwyer of The Woodlands, Texas. John is also survived by his aunt, Judy Demoney and many cousins and friends.

John was proceeded in death by his father, Buddy Banks and his aunt, Martha Knox. Grandparents Virginia and Walter Browning Banks Jr. and Loleta and Charles Hayes.

Services to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday June 14, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Bethel Community Church with Heath Sims officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
