Jo Anne Boyd

Jo Anne Fautt Boyd of Waxahachie, TX, passed away peacefully at Midlothian Healthcare Center on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

Born December 4, 1936 in Waxahachie to Nine Mae and Homer Lee Fautt, Jo Anne was a lifelong Texan with a heart as big as the sky. She was a devoted member of Northside Church of Christ, and her love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was at the center of everything she did.

Jo Anne had a long and respected career in the medical field, working as a nurse for Doctors Williams, Jones, Fearis, Gilkey, and Holt. Known professionally as Anne, she comforted countless patients with her gentle touch, kind words, and unwavering care. She earned her LVN from Navarro College and carried herself with quiet professionalism and grace that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Family was everything to Jo Anne. She treasured every visit from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved Turner Classic Movies, keeping up with friends on Facebook, and reading her Bible. Even after losing her sight, she never missed a beat, listening to audio recordings of scripture and staying connected to her faith.

Jo Anne lived in Waxahachie until 2015 when she moved to Duncanville to live with her daughter.

Jo Anne was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Gilbert R. Boyd, grandson Royce "Bubba" Ostrander, and great granddaughter Haylee Adair Hoggard.

She is survived by her brother, Douglas L. Fautt; children Donna Hoggard Glenn & Frank Guidry of Duncanville, TX , Karen Hoggard Widner of Denton, TX, and Royce L. Hoggard of Whitney, TX; grandchildren Casey Swallow & partner Mark Zimmons, Jimmy Henzler Jr., Dustin Hoggard & wife Mandee, Jason Hoggard & wife Shannon, Cody Hoggard, Cole Hoggard & wife Margaret, and Earl Hoggard; great-grandchildren Dalton, Mason, and Rylan Henzler, Justice & wife Sicilie, Jaydyn, Jerako, Evan, Jasmine, Hadley, and Elliott Hoggard, Bronc, and Riggin Ostrander; great-great-grandchildren Wiley Whatley, Zoey Zimmons, Gracyn, Miles, and Lynee June Hoggard; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.

The graveside service will be held at Sardis Cemetery on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 2:30pm.

Jo Anne ran her home with a loving hand, a quick smile, and a spirit that could fill a room. She leaves behind a family who adored her, a faith that carried her through, and a life lived with grace, laughter, and plenty of heart.
