Jimmie Franklin McCann aged 80, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026.
Born August 20, 1945, Jimmie went on to become a proud graduate of Louisiana State University (LSU), earning his degree in 1968. A man of diverse talents and a strong work ethic, he began his professional journey as an educator, shaping young minds before transitioning into the automotive sector. He spent many successful years as a regional manager in the auto industry and ultimately fulfilled his entrepreneurial spirit as a successful business owner.
Outside of his career, Jimmie was defined by his faith and his passions. He was a long-time, active member of the Lonestar Cowboy Church, where he found great community and fellowship. His deep love for Hot Rods was a central part of his life, earning him a proud status as a lifetime member of the Dallas Area Street Rods.
Jimmie is survived by his son, Keith McCann and wife Kim McCann of Maypearl, TX; grandsons, Cameron McCann, Hayden McCann and his wife Addison McCann, all of Maypearl, TX; brother, Eddy McCann and wife Patti McCann of Austin, TX; sister, Ruth Johnson of Austin, TX; and numerous nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayden McCann and Esther McCann; his son, Jason McCann; his brothers, Hilton McCann and Bill McCann; and his sister, Lily Brown.
