Jimmie Don “Donnie” Alexander went to his heavenly home on March 11, 2023. He was a beloved husband, father, father in love, grandfather, and great grandfather. Jimmie Don was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family and church.
He was born in Spur Texas to James and Inez Alexander on December 20, 1942. He graduated from Spur High School in 1960. He met and married the love of his life Pat Alexander, November 25, 1961. Over his lifetime he worked for John Deere, TP&L, TU Electric, Oncor and Chapman Construction. He was truly a company man. Jimmie Don served as a Mason and a was a member of Scottish Rite. While living in Spur he also served his community as a volunteer fire fighter.
Jimmie Don retired from Oncor after 30 years and worked at Chapman Construction for 17 years. He retired on a Friday and went to work for Chapman the next Monday. He was loved by the men he supervised and was referred to as “Old Stallion”. Jimmie Don was not afraid of hard work, and he instilled those values in his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia Ann Alexander; Daughter Debbie Beverly and husband Michael of Stephenville Texas; Son, Warren Alexander and wife Audry of Cayuga, Texas; grandsons, Brandon Alexander and wife Danielle of Bowman, South Carolina; Brady Alexander and wife Ashley, Breck Alexander and fiancée Alyssa Ries all of Cayuga Texas; JB Alexander and fiancée Morgan Luther of Dalhart, Texas; Colton Beverly and Stephanie Davis and granddaughter Michaela Beverly of Stephenville, Texas. He also had a great grandson Colt Alexander. He was also survived by his Uncle Dean Turbyfill, who he often referred to as his brother.
Jimmie Don is preceded in death by his parents James and Inez Alexander, brother Charles “Butch” Alexander, and sister Sharlia Alexander Upton.
Jimmie Don loved spending time with his family and working outside any chance he got if he was not working outside, he was at livestock shows, football and basketball games, scouting events or anything else his grandchildren were involved in. He loved his family and was always wanting to keep caught up on his grandkid’s lives.
His celebration of life service will be held Saturday April 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home 1826 W. Hwy. 287 Business, Waxahachie, Texas 75165.
