Waxahachie

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Burleson, 90, of Waxahachie, Texas, who left us peacefully on October 31, 2025. Born to Harvey and Nell Burleson on June 29, 1935, Jerry lived a life full of love and purpose. After graduating from Groesbeck High School, he honorably served in the Army National Guard for six years, demonstrating his dedication to his country before embarking on a career at Reliable Life Insurance Company.

Jerry was more than just a husband, father, and friend; he was a source of inspiration and warmth to all who knew him. His passions, including playing golf and watching the Cowboys and Rangers, were matched only by his love for spending quality time with family and friends. The kindness and generosity he showed throughout his life have left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 70 years, Joanne, and his two sons, Barry (Sharon) of Alvarado and Mark (Jeannie) of North Richland Hills. He also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren—Stephanie, Terry, Jared, Jewel, and Fiona; his brother, Dan; and his dear friend Camm Daughtery, whom he loved like a daughter. Although he will be deeply missed, the memories of Jerry’s gentle spirit will forever be a source of comfort.
