Jean Marie Fomby, 87, of Red Oak, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026.

Jean was born on August 16, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, to Forrest and Maria Coburn. Throughout her life, she was known for her kindness, laughter, sense of humor, and understanding nature. She had a deep love for people and animals alike and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Jean found joy in tending her flower gardens, reading, and spending countless hours creating beautiful quilt tops. Her creativity, compassion, and warm spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Fomby, and her parents, Forrest and Maria Coburn.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Smith and Doris Evertsen and her husband, Chuck; her son, Tom Fomby and his wife, Janice; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Jean's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for the kindness and joy she shared with others throughout her life.
