James Norman Prewitt

James Norman Prewitt, age 63, died October 5, 2025, at his home in Palmer, Texas. Norman was born March 4, 1962 in Dallas, Texas to James Earl and Sue Prewitt.

He graduated from North East High School, North Little Rock, Ar. in 1980. He was a member of the Explorer Program through the North Little Rock Fire Department. After graduating from high school, his family moved to the Dallas area, where he attained his dream of becoming a firefighter first in Midlothian and then Cedar Hill fire departments.

Norman is survived by his wife of 37 years, Vickie; sons, Jonathan (JP) and Josh; grandsons, Bentley Wade, Norman Wray, and James Waylon; mother, Sue Prewitt; sister, Melanie Russ and husband, Benjie; brother, Jason Prewitt and wife, Jessica; and two nieces and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Earl Prewitt; sister, Twyla Sue; and his grandparents.

He was a member of the Tabernacle Church, Ennis, Texas, devoted to Disaster Relief for the SBTC, and was a member of the ESD 9 Board of Directors for the Palmer fire department.
