James David Clark of Holly Lake Ranch passed away Saturday, October 31st, 2020. He was born April 28th, 1952 in Waxahachie, Texas. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed after losing his short but hard fought battle with cancer.
David was employed by Tyler Refrigeration in Waxahachie before moving to Ennis, Texas to work for Elk Roofing. His job gave him a lot of pride and he loved sharing the adventures of the roofing materials manufacturing business with us. He met his wife, Beckie, who was also employed at Elk and they got together as a couple at a 1985 Super Bowl party. They got married at Horseshoe Bay, Texas on January 3rd, 1991. His career took them to Elk in Bakersfield, California, moving there in June 1994. His Texas roots run deep though, so after retiring in 2009, he moved back to Texas the following year.
He chose to live his golden years in the beautiful piney woods of East Texas which he loved. He spent his time fishing, gardening, working on projects, riding around Holly Lake Ranch in the golf cart, and overall being happily retired.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beckie, beloved son, Chris Prince (Michelle), grandsons Austin and Tyler Prince, sisters Jean Tiner (Jim), Joan Norch, and Lisa Houdek (Dave), brother-in-law Bing Burns (Janie), niece Amanda Nelson, (Ben), niece Holly Bates, great-nephews Hunter Vasquez, Christopher Rhea, TC, Ryan, and Barrett Nelson, and great-nieces Presley Woods and Gabby Nelson.
His life was richly blessed with a bonus family from Beckie whom he was a great Dad and Paw-Paw to. Survivors are daughter, Missy Montri (Dan), grandson Blake Bateman (Mandi), granddaughter Chandler Hobbs (Zach), Son Shane Barnard (Terri), grandson Mason Delgado (Rae Ann), granddaughter Erika McAnally (Russell), granddaughter Emily Barnard, son Sean Barnard, granddaughter Ivie Barnard and grandson Dylan Barnard. Five great-grandchildren, Brylee, Pecos, Kaylee, Derik, and Olivia also survive.
David was preceded in death by his father, James Wallace Clark, Mother Eva Merle Clark, and sister Connie Lynn Clark.
