Helen Wheatley

Helen Marie Wheatley, 83, of Maypearl, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 in Waxahachie, Texas.  Helen was born April 28, 1936 in Waxahachie, to Otis and Blanch White.  The older of the two children, James (Jimmy) White came about ten years later.  She was “Sissy” to him no matter how old they had gotten.  Helen was a graduate of Waxahachie High School and married the love of her life, at the age of 16, Herbert Wayne Wheatley.  They were married all the way up to Herbert Wayne’s passing, December 1998.

She adored her two children, Dixie and Rodney; her two grandchildren, James and Marcus Armstrong; and Cricket, she and Herbert Wayne’s long time dog.

She always enjoyed her soaps and westerns.  Herbert Wayne was lucky Sam Elliot didn’t live closer.

A longtime member of the Maypearl Church of Christ, she and her husband, Herbert Wayne could be found in their same seats on most Sundays, many times with their grandson, Marcus, in tow.

Helen was an extremely hard worker, tending cows, mending fences and whatever else needed to be done.  She worked for Ennis Business Forms up until retirement, then tended to Herbert Wayne who had fallen ill.

There was never a question of her generosity and servant’s heart, as she always did everything she could for others, especially her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Blanch White and her husband, Herbert Wayne Wheatley.

She is survived by her brother James (Jimmy) White, her two children, Dixie Allen and Rodney Wheatley; grandchildren, James and Marcus Armstrong, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are encouraged to gather for a time of visitation on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 6 to 8 in the evening at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Services celebrating Helen’s life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 10 o’clock in the morning in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maypearl Cemetery.
