Jane was raised in the close-knit community of Warren, Arkansas, where her father worked as a lumber mill manager and her mother was a devoted homemaker. She was an active member of the local Church of Christ and was known by nearly everyone in town. Jane was well-liked, kind, and outgoing, serving as a cheerleader during her high school years.

After graduating from high school, Jane attended secretarial school in Tyler, Texas. It was there that she met the love of her life, Robert Hunter Clemmons Jr. The two were married on February 25, 1950, beginning a devoted marriage that lasted 70 years. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and friends and were blessed with two daughters, Pamelia Jane and Mary Louise.

Jane enjoyed a long and productive career working for several organizations, including Tyler Junior College, where she eventually retired. She was known for her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and cooperative relationship with coworkers.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Louise (Lou) Verner and husband Ron Verner of Waxahachie, Texas; her grandchildren and their spouses Chelsea and Mark Jacobs, Cortni and Adam Henke, Cassie and Austin Henley, Cailee and Sam Ellis, Beau Bader, Blythe Bader and her spouse, and Brock Bader; 2 step-grandchildren and their spouses Chris and Jala Verner, and Will and Lindy Wilhite; 22 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great grandchildren.
