Harold Steele

Harold Wayne Steele went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2020, surrounded by his family.  Wayne was born October 26th 1940 in Waxahachie to Johnny Russell and Elizabeth Steele.  He joined the Navy at the age of 17 and was stationed in Hawaii, where he served for 4 years before returning home to start a family.  He married Rexa “Crickett” Kirk on January 24th 1976.  He was a truck driver for TXI in Midlothian for 37 years before retiring.  In retirement, he enjoyed driving a bus for the Life school and spending time with his grandkids.  Some of his greatest joys were listening to Bluegrass and gospel music, his dogs, his family and his flip-flops. He was a loving husband, father and PawPaw.  He will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his father Johnny Russell Steele, his mother Elizabeth Steele Brown, stepfather Cliff Brown, sisters Evelyn Steele and Wanda Steele Lowe, brothers Robert Steele, Charlie Steele and Billy Jo Steele.  He is survived by his wife Crickett Steele, Sons Russell Steele and Wife Carol, Michael Steele and wife LeeAnn, & Randy Steele and wife Krista. Grandchildren Molly Steele, Tyler Steele and wife Mandy, Steven Steele, Staci Steele, Brenden Steele, Chloe Steele and Alexis Steele. Brother Doyle Brown, sisters Mary Atkinson, Sandra Stacks and Betty Stults and numerous nieces and nephews.
