Gloria was born to Lucian Brown and Nola Kimbro on February 25, 1935. She went to Heaven on February 9, 2026. Gloria began piano lessons at age five and she gave her first solo recital at age nine. She started playing for Sunday school at Baptist Temple in San Antonio at age eleven.

Gloria earned a Bachelor of Music Education at Howard Payne College in 1956. While at Howard Payne, she met James, and they were married on August 10, 1956. In 1966 Carla Elizabeth was added to the family. James and his father purchased a jewelry and fine gift store in Stamford, Texas in the nineteen sixties. When James's father retired James and Goria bought out the partnership and moved the store to Waxahachie in 1976. The store closed when they retired in 1992. For over thirty years Gloria served as a church organist and often served as choir director. She also played for civic events, community theater and holiday events. Gloria’s favorite scripture is Psalms 27:14. Her favorite Hymn "How Firm a Foundation" is taken from this scripture. She is survived by her husband James, her daughter Elizabeth and her son-in-law Mark Tribelli.
