Gloria Cheryl “Glo” DeLara 
February 9, 1967 - February 5, 2026

Gloria Cheryl “Glo” DeLara, beloved daughter, wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 58. While her absence is deeply felt by all who loved her, her life was filled with laughter, faith, music, and a love that reached far beyond family ties. She will always be remembered as someone who lived fully and loved fiercely.

Gloria was born on February 9, 1967 in Weatherford, TX and grew up grounded in Texas family traditions and culture. She graduated from Mineral Wells High School, Class of 1985, and carried those friendships and memories with her throughout her life. Whether in Mineral Wells, Dallas, or wherever Glo traveled, she built lasting connections and left a mark on everyone she met.

Known affectionately as “Glo” and to some as “Queen Glo” or “Glamorous Glo”, she was joy in human form. She never met a stranger and always made time for people.

Glo married her best friend Jesus R. “Jessie” Gallegos in Dallas, Texas on September 2007. Glo’s love for Jessie radiated and transcended as they journeyed together as a couple and best friends in life. Together they built a life of joy for others. Their marriage was one of countless memories and endless love.

She made a rewarding career for herself in property management where for almost three decades she mentored, trained, and successfully produced results for ownership. Gloria worked for some of the leading companies in the industry, that success led her to senior management. She was a fearless leader who instilled hard work and dedication to her team members who became an adopted family. Gloria was loved, admired, and respected in the apartment business.

Gloria loved celebrating life’s milestones and found true happiness in planning and hosting gatherings for others. Birthdays, holidays, reunions, or just-because get-togethers became something special in her hands. She welcomed everyone with warmth, laughter, and something yummy. Gloria was an excellent cook and baker, famous among family and friends for her amazing cakes and the love she poured into every dish she made.

She was the life of the party, whether dancing at fiestas, laughing with her friends, or enjoying nights out filled with music. Her infectious laughter, radiant smile, and zest for life came alive when Tejano music played. Those sounds carried memories of family reunions, filled with food, laughter, and dancing, traditions she cherished and helped keep alive. Her life was full of color in the way she expressed herself and the way she presented herself to the world. Glo was quite the fashionista, evidenced by her ability to color coordinate and extend that coordination to day to day life. She transmitted that color as joy to make a better day for all she could countered.

Glo’s love reached far beyond celebrations. She was a great woman of faith who was raised in the Catholic Church. Gloria was a faithful member of Our Lady of San Juan De Los Lago- Santa Teresita Church in Dallas. Her love for God made Glo a safe place, a mentor, and a source of encouragement. As a servant of Jesus she saw the good in people and helped them believe in themselves. Friends became family in her presence, and family became even closer through her care.

To her nieces and nephews and the many children she adored and adopted as her own she was more than an aunt… she was support, guidance, joy and a Mother in their lives.

She shared decades of memories with those closest to her, from school days and reunions to parties, travels, and everyday conversations that meant everything. Her home and her heart were open, and she had a gift for bringing people together in laughter, music, and love.

Gloria is preceded in death by her mother, Manuela “Nellie” DeLara; her father, Clemente DeLara Sr.; her sisters Nellie and Maryann DeLara and her brother, Ray DeLara. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jesus R. “Jessie” Gallegos; her brother, Clemente DeLaraJr. and his wife Dolores; her sisters, Virginia DeLara, Yolanda DeLara, and Patricia DaLara-Gonzalez; and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends who will continue to carry her memory forward.

Those who loved Gloria take comfort in faith and remembrance. When Tejano music plays, when laughter fills a room, or when friends gather to celebrate life, her colorful spirit lives on. She taught everyone around her to love big, laugh often, dance when the music starts, and cherish time together.

She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.
