Ernest Newhouse

Earnest (Ernie) Earl Newhouse of Waxahachie, TX passed away September 14, 2022. He was born June 12, 1940 to Mr. and Mrs. William Leonard Newhouse in Honey Grove, TX.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Etta Byrd Newhouse and father, William Leonard Newhouse; brothers, Donald Wayne Newhouse , Delmer Lloyd Newhouse, William Loy Newhouse; sisters, Cominta Faye Jett, Kitty Louise Allard, Dorothy Jean Marshall, Rosetta Ann Walker; niece, Kristen Jordan; and stepson, Philip Waldroup.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Lynn Monday Newhouse; sister, Patricia (Pat) Belle Jordan; numerous nieces and nephews; 5 stepchildren, and several step-grandchildren, who he claimed as his own.

Ernie enlisted in the Army on January 27, 1959 and was honorably discharged December 31, 1964. He was very proud of his service to our country. After his service, he began working for the US Post Office, where he served for 35 years before retirement. He loved to travel, work crossword puzzles, watch Wheel of Fortune, and spend time with family.
