Edward Donald Taylor, 76, of Waxahachie passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022. Don was born April 5, 1945, in Plainview, Texas to Charlie and Dorothy Taylor.
He attended school at Hart ISD until the family moved to Waxahachie, Texas in 1956. Don graduated from Waxahachie High in 1963.
Don had two passions – work and family. He held several jobs throughout his lifetime but knew his true calling was in the medical field. He graduated from Navarro College as a Registered Nurse and worked over 20 years in the ICU at Baylor Waxahachie. He won multiple nursing awards for his clinical knowledge and outstanding patient care.
Don married the love of his life, Carole, in 1984. Carole brought out the best in him, and together they created a loving home with their blended family. He enjoyed spending time with his entire family and could be found pitching washers or playing 42 at family gatherings.
Don was a strong Christian. He was a devoted member of Farley Street Baptist Church and enjoyed connecting with his Sunday School class.
His survivors include son, Dwayne Valencik and wife Vickie of Cypress, TX; son, Allen Willis of Galveston, TX; son, Rhett Taylor of El Paso, TX; daughter, Lori Taylor of Harker Heights, TX; son, Ryan Taylor and wife Jennifer of Waxahachie, TX; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Carole Taylor; brothers, Ronnie and Paige Taylor; and granddaughter, Bailey Willis.
