Dr. Tommy Leon Menser, 78, of Waxahachie, Texas passed away on November 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy built on dedication, grit, and unwavering commitment to the people and animals he served.
Born on August 5, 1947, in Big Springs, Texas, Tommy was raised in Coahoma where he graduated with the class of 1965. Driven by determination and a sharp mind, he went on to earn his master’s degree from Texas Tech University before achieving his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the prestigious Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine.
After completing his studies, Tommy moved to Waxahachie, Texas where he opened the Menser Veterinary Clinic. For 46 years, he stood at the helm of the practice day after day, year after year, providing steadfast and compassionate care. His work ethic was unmatched. His commitment to his patients and their families became the cornerstone of his reputation. Through good times and difficult ones, he remained dedicated to his profession and to the community that trusted him.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Leon & Mildred Menser; and his grandparents Howard & Mary Reid, and Abury & Amy Menser.
He is survived by his constant companion Debi, his sons Joe and James of Waxahachie, and his beloved grandchildren James and Alexandria "Al". He is also survived by his sister Jerriann Lott and her husband Lee; nieces Kamrine Lott and her daughter Karsen, and Kristin Jarrin and her husband Nelson and their daughter Noelle.
Dr. Tommy Leon Menser will be remembered as a man of strength, loyalty, and deep conviction. He built a life defined by service, resilience, and heart. His impact on Waxahachie and on every person and animal he cared for will continue to live on.
