Dr. Hans Scharen, age 65

Dr. Hans Scharen of Midlothian, Texas passed away Monday evening, September 27, 2004 at Baylor Medical Center, Waxahachie, Texas. He was born in Bulach, Zurich Switzerland to Hans and Freida Emma (Langer) Scharen. Hans has been the Associate Pastor at the Midlothian Bible Church since 1991 and a member of Midlothian Bible Church since 1983. He was President of the Midlothian Ministerial Alliance, served on the board of Midlothian Bible Church's Child Care, and taught an adult Sunday school class for many years. Hans worked with Meals on Wheels and with the Midlothian Senior Citizens Center.

Hans is survived by: his wife, Judy Scharen of Midlothian, TX; daughters, Aimee Scharen of Austin, TX and Emily Scharen of Denton, TX; brother, Daniel Scharen of France; sister, Magdalena Scharen of Switzerland; three nephews, Dr. Stefan Scharen, Martin Scharen, Eddi Schmidt; and three nieces, Rachel, Marian, and Esther. Dr. Scharen was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends and relatives 7-9 PM Thursday, September 30, 2004 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Friday, October 1, 2004 at the Midlothian Bible Church with Reverend Dave Wyrtzen officiating. Pallbearers will be Wallace McWhorter, Dan Baucum, Kim Lewis, Bill Prikryl, Kevin Martin, Matt Runnels, Steve Fletcher and Dale Ford. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Midlothian Bible Church Building Fund.
