Donna Jean Rogers, age 76, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, in Waxahachie, Texas, surrounded by the love that defined her remarkable life.
Born on June 7, 1948, Donna lived with a generous heart and an infectious smile that could brighten any room. She was the devoted wife of Jerry Rogers, her partner in life's greatest adventure for over 55 years. Together, they built a foundation of love, laughter, and unwavering support that became the cornerstone of their beautiful family.
For many years, Donna served as a secretary in various middle and high schools across Texas, where she became far more than an administrator she was a caring presence who touched countless young lives. Students and staff alike were drawn to her warm heart and genuine concern for others. Her office was often a safe haven where a kind word, a listening ear, or simply her radiant smile could turn a difficult day around.
But Donna's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. She raised three amazing children who carry forward her values of kindness, resilience, and love. Her legacy lives on through her children: Amber Morris and her husband Wade; Jeff Rogers and his wife Sherri; and Cody Rogers and his wife Jamie. Donna's love multiplied through the generations with her four cherished grandchildren Abby, Nick, Mia, and Brandon, and her precious great-grandson Theodore, who brought special light to her later years.
Those who knew Donna will remember her as someone who made everyone feel welcome and valued. She had the rare gift of making ordinary moments feel special and of creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her love was the kind that grew stronger with time, deeper with each challenge, and brighter with every celebration.
A celebration of Donna's life will be held at Wayne Boze Funeral Home on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with Chaplain Don Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a local school district or educational foundation, honoring Donna's lifelong commitment to nurturing young minds.
"A life well-lived is measured not in years,
but in the love shared and the hearts touched.
By this measure, Donna's life was immeasurably rich."
