Davy “Mack” Allen, age 84, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Mack lived a life full of kindness, laughter and purpose. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend whose steady presence made everyone around him feel valued and loved. To know Mack was to know genuine warmth, a quick wit, and a heart that always put others first.
For many years, Mack dedicated his time to coaching youth sports with special love for baseball and mentoring young people in his community. He believed in the power of encouragement and patience, and countless kids learned more than just the game from him – they learned confidence, teamwork and respect. His influence continues to live on through the lives he helped shape, both on and off the field.
Family was everything to Mack. He found his greatest joy in time spent together, family visits, family dinners, at his grandkids ball games, long talks and not so quiet moments with his very large and loud family that have turned into lifelong memories. He was the happiest and calmest when everyone was together and it was loud. Even at the end, he was at peace and calm when the family was all together and the conversation and loudness was present. He taught through example what it means to work hard, care deeply and treat others with kindness.
Mack leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory including his wife of 63 years, Jo Ann Allen, son, David Allen and wife Angela Allen of North Richland Hills, Texas; daughter, Kristi Allen Baxter and husband Marcus Baxter of Palmer, Texas; daughter-in-law Melissa Allen of Waxahachie, Texas. Mack is also survived by ten grandchildren, Anna Bridges and husband Cameron, of Richardson, Texas; Emily Allen of Waxahachie, Texas; Jacob Allen and wife Abby, of Waxahachie, Texas; Haley Allen of North Richland Hills, Texas; Hannah Newton and husband Alex of Azle, Texas; Nathan Allen and wife Jekka of Irving, Texas; Sarah Allen of Los Angeles, California; Harper Allen of North Richland, Texas; Will Baxter and Eli Baxter, both of Palmer, Texas; as well as five great grandchildren, Elliott, Fiona, Emma, June, Lizzie and two great grandchildren due to arrive in the Spring. He is also survived by his goddaughter, Sarah Brown of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; god grandsons, Russell Brown of Alvarado, Texas; Keith Brown and Kevin Brown, both of Waxahachie, Texas; one sister, Judy Haney of Waxahachie and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, McDuffy Allen and Evelyn Allen; sister, Susan Allen; son, Jeff Allen; brother-in-law and best friend, Jimmy Haney.
Though our hearts ache in his absence, Macks spirit will always live on in his family, their memories and the love he continuously had and showed for all of them, the lessons he taught, the people he inspired and the love he shared so freely.
