David Spear, age 55 of Red Oak, was taken to be with the Lord on June 25, 2021 by complications due to COVID-19. He was born on February 25, 1966 in Waxahachie, Texas to James and Carolyn Spear. David was raised in Maypearl, Texas and graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1984, he then attended college at the University of Texas in Arlington. David worked the past 4 years at CP&Y as a Survey Technician.
David’s mother owned a café in Maypearl in 1994 where he met the love of his life, the late Tracy Spear. They were married at the First Baptist Church of Maypearl on July 19, 1997. David and Tracy had one daughter, Courtney, who was the center of their world. They could often be found in the stands of a gymnasium cheering her on while she practiced and played volleyball for Red Oak High School and the NRG Club teams.
His survivors include: his daughter, Courtney Jean Spear; parents James and Carolyn Spear; sisters Kimberly Spear and Deanna Hobbs; brother James Alan Spear; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceeded in death by his beloved wife Tracy Jean Spear who passed away on April 3, 2021.
The family will have a small graveside ceremony at the Maypearl Cemetery with Scott Richards officiating on Sunday, July 11th at 2:00 PM.
