David Howard Bittle (aka “Throttle”), born October 5, 1965, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on August 1, 2026. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Howard and Virginia Bittle, of Fort Worth, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Lisa Bittle, and daughter Taylor Elkins and her husband Jacob, son Hayden Bittle and bonus daughter Morgan Goforth; grandchildren Levi, Landon, and Rylie Elkins, and sister Peggy Penley (Bob), brother Casey Bittle (Sherry) and many nieces and nephews.

David graduated from Castleberry High School in River Oaks, Texas where he participated in football, drama and show choir. He was an EMT and volunteer Fireman for River Oaks and worked for LTV as an Industrial Firemen. He graduated the police academy at Dallas Baptist University and began his career with Waxahachie Police department in 1994. In 2001, he worked overseas as a police trainer in East Timor and in 2005, as Security Detail in Afghanistan. While he has served in many roles as a first responder, he always found his way back to Waxahachie PD; his second family.

David has had many adventures over the years. Along with being a firemen and police officer, he was a chef and a pilot. He enjoyed bowling, flying, scuba diving, sky diving, and being on his motorcycle, particularly with the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. He loved spending time with his family and traveling with his wife to many locations including Australia, Israel, Italy and all around the US. David lived life to the fullest. He was always looking for his next adventure, never regretting the last one. But his greatest and proudest adventure was being a husband, father and Papaw.

Gifted with a servant heart, he was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He was always looking to make someone’s day better. He served in many roles within the church: Security Team, Café Manager, and Deacon. He joined another brotherhood, Men’s Alliance, and accredited his renewed love for the Lord and affection for His people to this band of brothers. His new passion was leading men to be the husband, fathers and leaders God meant them to be. He finished strong!

2 Timothy 4:6-8 “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
