David Richard Duke, 57, of Keller, TX passed away on February 25, 2022. Born in Dallas, TX on April 19, 1964, David graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1982 and also attended North Texas State University and Navarro College. David is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Ramona (Van Wart); his children, Lauren (Matthew) Clark, Lanie Duke, Thomas Duke, Brian Duke, and Anna Duke; his parents, Richard Duke and Patricia (Don) Sachse; his sisters, Nancy (Rich) Eberlen and Susan (Michael) Ried; and many beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews. David was a hard worker and especially enjoyed his jobs at Tyler Refrigeration and more recently with XTO/Exxon Mobil. A devoted family man, he loved his wife and children above all else. His constant reminder to his children was that the best things they had going for them was their love of their Lord and Savior and their love for one another. Anyone who knew David was touched by his sense of humor. He loved making family and friends laugh and was always up for a practical joke. He was a true people-person and never met a stranger. Some of David’s other favorite things included being outdoors, fishing, taking vacations with his family, eating Mexican food (the hotter the better), firing up the grill or smoker, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. A funeral service celebrating David’s life will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Waxahachie Bible Church, located at 621 Grand Avenue N., Waxahachie, TX 75165.
The family would like to thank David’s work family at XTO/Exxon Mobil for their compassion and generosity as well as the many people who offered their prayers and support.
In lieu of flowers, the David R. Duke Memorial Fund has been established on gofundme.com to offset medical expenses and educational pursuits for David’s children.
