David Lee Beeson of Rockett, Texas passed away at his home on July, 15, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. David was born on September 20, 1957 in Garland, Texas to Jewel Franklin Beeson and Noralene Tilley Beeson. David was the fourth of four boys born to the couple, the others included: Donald Wayne Beeson, Douglas Ray Beeson, and Darryl Edward Beeson all proceeding him in death. Surviving family members include his son, Wade Franklin Beeson of Rockett, his longtime girlfriend, Hilery DeJesus Cruz of Lewisville, and his dog Rocket. He is also survived by his nephew, Daniel Beeson of Ranson, West Virginia and nieces Sarah Ambriati of Garland, Vanessa Farrand of Plano, and Alexandra Shriver of Dallas. David grew up in Garland and graduated from South Garland High School in 1976 where he was a star member of the tennis team. David attended the University of Texas at Arlington where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, and Master of Science degree in Geology. David held several offices in the UTA student chapters of the American Association of Petroleum Geologist and the Earth Science honor society, Alpha Gamma Epsilon. During graduate school, David spent several summers in Washington state mapping the pyroclastic flows from the May 18, 1980 volcanic eruption of Mount St. Helens for his Master’s thesis. Following graduation, David worked for Ecology and Environment as an emergency response contractor for the Environmental Protection Agency. In 2012, David accepted a position as Assistant Environmental Manager with home builder D. R. Horton, a job he held until his death. Dave enjoyed traveling and made many trips to Europe with his girlfriend Hilery. Dave was a fan of the local live music scene and always kept up with his favorite sports teams the Cowboys, Stars, Rangers, and Mavericks. Cooking was one of Dave’s greatest passions and his friends and family will always remember his famous dishes such as brisket, ribs, boiled shrimp, and jambalaya. Dave was a member of the Rockett Christian Church where he served as a member of the board for many years. Dave will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity to those in need. Memorial services will be held at a later date pending return of David’s ashes. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in David’s honor be made to your favorite animal rescue organization.
