Charline Jacoby

Charline Jacoby, age 84, left this life February 23,2019 at her home in Waxahachie, Texas. She was born May 24, 1934 in Lexington, Ky

Charline had a calling to teach and her passion was her students. She taught for many years in Waxahachie and Dallas as well as Navarro College after retirement from WISD.  She and her sister Georgianna volunteered for years at Baylor Hospital in the gift shop. Ms. Jacoby volunteered all her life but her favorite was the year she headed up the Waxahachie Gingerbread Trail Celebration. Her favorite pastime was playing bridge and camping with her best friends Ann and Vernon Cates and Eloise and Jack Wright.

Charline was preceded in death by her parents Wills and Ruth Jacoby and brother Harlan Jacoby. She is survived by sisters Georgianna Jacoby of Waxahachie and Betty Skinner of Blacksburg, Virginia, daughter Gwen Sharb and husband Jerry of Midlothian, Texas, son Rodney Gregory of Lancaster, Texas  Joseph Gregory and wife Robin of Venus, Texas. Granddaughter Kristen McClure and husband Jesse of Midlothian, Texas, Emily  Baker and husband Josh of Waxahachie, Texas and Joseph “Trey” Gregory of Red Oak , Texas. Great grandchildren Justin B. and Raegan B., And Brody M and Abby M.

We would like to thank Ed Loveland and Bristol Hospice for the love and kindness shown to our Mom during her extended illness and our Aunt Georgianna. Memorials in her memory can be made to Waxahachie ISD through the Education Foundation Fund or Johnson/Ellis County Meals on Wheels.

Friends and family are encouraged to gather for a time of visitation Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 6 to 8 in the evening at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.

Services celebrating Charline’s life will be held Wednesday, February, 27, 2019 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Burial will take place Saturday, March 2, 2019 at at 11 o’clock in the morning at  Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington, Kentucky.
