Carolyn Jackson, 86, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas.

A memorial service celebrating Carolyn’s life will be held Thursday, July 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 US-287 BUS, Waxahachie, TX 75165.

Carolyn was born on September 8, 1939, in Memphis, Hall County, Texas, to Ruby and Leo Collins. Carolyn’s father passed away when she was eleven. Her mother, Ruby, then ran for and was elected to the office of County Clerk of Hall County, a position she held for approximately 20 years, including the year Carolyn graduated from Memphis High School in 1958.

After graduation, Carolyn worked at the First National Bank of Memphis. Her mother, Ruby, introduced her to the love of her life, Calvin Jackson, who was then working at the Hall County Courthouse as a young engineer with the Department of Agriculture. Carolyn and Calvin married on November 8, 1958.

Following their marriage, Carolyn and Calvin embarked on a 67-year journey that took them to Childress, Santa Fe, Albuquerque and finally, in 1975, to Fort Worth, as Calvin pursued his career as a hydraulic engineer with the Soil Conservation Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Along the way they had two children, Cal and Carol, both born in Memphis, Texas. Carolyn was unsurpassed as a mother, homemaker, and caregiver for her family throughout their travels, transfers, and adventures.

Carolyn was a life-long devoted member of the United Methodist Church and was a member of Arborlawn UMC at the time of her death. She was for many years a loyal and devoted volunteer with the Fort Worth Republican Women.

Carolyn leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and love for her family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, faith, and enthusiasm touched countless lives. She enjoyed nothing more than the opportunity to see and spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces, who were the light of her life.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Collins and Ruby Goodnight, and her sister Anna Margaret Cassidy.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Calvin Jackson, her daughter Carol Silver and husband Ken and son Cal Jackson and wife Cheryl, her sister Linda Thompson, and many other cherished family members, including grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

Carolyn’s memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her, and she will be deeply missed while forever remaining in the hearts of those who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Carolyn’s memory to the American Cancer Association or a charity of choice.
