In Loving Memory of Bobbye Crouch Embry
September 18, 1925 – June 30, 2025
Bobbye Crouch Embry, a lifelong resident of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 30, just weeks shy of celebrating her 100th birthday.
Born in Ferris, Texas, on September 18, 1925, to Bob and Pearlie Parker Crouch, Bobbye’s family moved to Waxahachie when she was a young child—a town she would cherish and call home for the rest of her life.
Bobbye was always very patriotic and proudly served our country as a Rosie The Riveter. During WWII she exchanged letters with Coy Embry. After his return from the Pacific theater, they married on October 26, 1946. Together, they raised two daughters, Judith Ann and Susan Gail, creating a home filled with love, faith, and laughter.
Bobbye dedicated her professional life to Citizens National Bank, where she began working in 1949 through 1992. She took great joy in greeting her customers each day, many of whom became cherished friends, therefore was very hesitant on making the decision to retire.
A woman of deep faith, Bobbye was the longest-standing member of Farley Street Baptist Church, now known as Pathway Church. She found great joy and purpose in teaching first-grade Sunday School for many years, touching countless young lives with her kindness and steady spirit.
She was also a proud and active member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 65 years. She held various leadership roles through those many years and built enduring friendships.
As a teenager, Bobbye discovered a natural talent for sewing, which she carried with her throughout life. She lovingly sewed clothing for her mother and daughters, often spending hours at her machine creating garments filled with care.
Bobbye was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Coy, her brother Raymond Crouch, her sisters Neita Hudson and Mary Sprinkle, and her grandson Steven Wade Blevins.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in her daughters, Judy McDill and husband Jim and Susan Green and husband Brad; her six grandchildren, Mason Blevins, Stephanie Toole, David McDill, Parker McDill, Andrea Macias, and Allison Leddy; and thirteen great-grandchildren—with one more on the way—who all adored their precious Mother/Grandmother/Gran-Gran.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to caregiver and friend Phyllis for all of the love and support shown to Bobbye.
A family graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. As plans were already in the making to celebrate Bobbye’s milestone 100th birthday in September, the family will instead honor her life with a Celebration of Life at that time.
Bobbye’s life was marked by unwavering faith, steady grace, and a deep love for her family, her church, and her community. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
