Billy Burkes Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, in Dallas, Texas.

Born on January 11, 1963, in Kaufman, Texas, Billy lived a life marked by strength, deep love, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew him.

Billy was preceded in death by his mother Donna Bell Helmontoller, father Feeolden Larry Burkes, brother John Burkes Sr., sisters Mary Burkes and Donna Burkes, and many beloved aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Burkes; sons Billy Burkes Jr. and wife Alicia Burkes, and Bobby Burkes and wife Sarah Burkes; grandchildren ShyAnne Collinsworth and husband Ryan Collinsworth, Hannah Burkes, Brenden Romero, Boston Burkes, and Sunny Burkes; great-grandsons Jackson Collinsworth and Jordan Collinsworth; brother Larry Burkes; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and dear friends.

Billy touched many lives with his words, love, humor, helpfulness, and caring heart. His family was his greatest joy. Though deeply missed, his memory and love will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
