Billie Byerley

January 25, 1934 — September 1, 2021

Waxahachie

Mrs. Billie Lavena Byerley was born on January 25, 1934 in Ellis County, Texas. She passed this life

On September 1, 2021 in Dallas, Texas.  Billie was one of eight children born to the marriage of Clayton B.

Ford and Gracie D. White. Billie married Dravo Coffey, and they had two sons, Barry and

Craig Coffey. She was a loving mother and sole provider for her sons for many years of their life.

She taught them many of life’s lessons through her strong personality and “ can do” attitude. She also provided a loving home for her boys.

As one of eight children, Billie nurtured and supported all of her family. She took care of her mother,

Gracie, in the last years of her life. She adored her granddaughter, Ashley and great grandchildren, Blake and Bodee.

She had many” adopted” grandchildren in her work at the schools and churches in Waxahachie as an aide.

The children always wanted Miss Billie to read to them and play games. Billie found much happiness when she

married the love of her life, Ken Byerley. They retired and moved to Houston, Texas, spending many happy

hours living in their log cabin before his death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, C.B., Gene, and Eddie Ford, 3 sisters, Ruth Stephens,

Darlene Walker, and Patsy Cooper,

Billie is survived by her two sons, Barry and his wife Doris, Craig, granddaughter, Ashley Lester and her husband,

Brandon, two great grandchildren, Blake and Bodee Lester, grandchildren, Brian Coffey and Kim North, Kris

And Matt Niles and great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Addison, and Korbin, one brother, Bobby Ford and sister-in law,

Brenda Ford and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thanks goes to her church friends at The Avenue Church for all their love and support over the years.
