Retired realtor, school teacher, dairy farmer and Trailways bus driver, Arthur Francis Haffey departed our world on March 24, 2021 at the age of 73, after an almost 5 year battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.
Arthur "Art or Buck" was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 1, 1947 to Arthur Joseph Haffey and Anna Mae Kromme Haffey. Art is survived by his devoted and loving wife Carol Wilburn Haffey; his son and son-in-law Arthur Travis Haffey and Ricardo Casas; his honorary children Norma, Gabriela, Elia nd Victor Casas; his siblings and their spouses David and Suzanne Haffey, Pat Ann and Tommy Brashier, Michael Haffey and Kevin Calvert; sister-in-law Betty Hopgood; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Art was a gregarious guy, known by all for loving a big laugh and a good joke. Most Sundays, he welcomed the entire congregation at the front doors of his beloved church, The First United Methodist Church of Red Oak. He absolutely loved to travel the United States by car (especially southern Utah). If not driving he and Carol in the car in Monument Valley, he was likely to be found landscaping his garden or performing his favorite activity of all--mowing the lawn. Art's laugh will be deeply missed.
The family requests that, in lieu of sending flowers, please donate to the Glioblastomafoundation.org in his name AND/OR to go out today, and do a good deed for someone in need.
The family has decided to not hold a funeral at this time due to the ongoing covid pandemic.
