Arley R. Searcy

Arley Ray Searcy, 77, gained his angel wings on December 3, 2025, in his hometown of Waxahachie, Texas. He was born on September 5, 1948, in Dallas, Texas.

Arley spent his last years doing the things he liked the most including reading, working crossword puzzles, watching movies from his large DVD collection, watching the Cowboys, and eating ice cream. In his younger years, he enjoyed being outdoors working in his yard, as well as fishing, some hunting, and spending time with family, and friends, at gatherings. Most of his career was spent as a golf course superintendent where he had the greenest greens. At retirement, he was still working on the golf course as a maintenance mechanic. Arley spent his adult life as a very loving and patient man. He helped anybody that he could and acted as a father figure for many in his and his wife Joyce’s families. If anybody needed anything, he was quick to help, whether it be moving, money, or a place to stay. He also had many friends over the years and never met a stranger. In his younger years, he played football and graduated from high school in Waxahachie where he grew up.

Arley was preceded in death by his mother, Leatrice Foster; his father, Richard Foster; his youngest brother, David Foster; and one of his sisters, Tabbie Wilkening. 

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce Searcy of Waxahachie, TX; his daughter, April Searcy, and her spouse Laura Martin, of Chaparral, NM; as well as, his four sisters: Dorothy Brock, and her spouse Tommy Brock, of Duncanville, TX, Judy Perez of Washington, IA, Margie (Star) Compian, and her spouse David Compian, of Hillsboro, TX, and Donna Fagan of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by two brothers, Stanley Foster, and his wife Shirley Foster, of Peoria, TX, and Jimmy Searcy of San Antonio, TX. Arley had one grandson, Guy Martin of Chaparral, NM, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial gathering on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 1pm to 3pm, at Wayne Boze Funeral Home at 1826 US-287 BUS in Waxahachie, TX 75165.
