Alma Earlene (Landrum) Antwine, age 84, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2025 in Midlothian, Texas.
She was born on December 18, 1940 in Grandfield, Oklahoma as the oldest daughter to Earl Taylor Landrum and Mildred Viola (Noel) Landrum. Earlene grew up in Grandfield and graduated from Grandfield High School in 1959. In high school she was the president of her FHA club her senior year, and her class secretary for two years. She played basketball, participated in pep club, glee club, home economics, and numerous other extracurriculars.
On June 28th, 1959, she married Lynn Merle Antwine (b. September 12, 1939) and moved to Midland, Texas. Together, they had three children: Richard Lynn Antwine (b. July 28, 1961), Robert Earl Antwine (b. October 2, 1962), and Stephanie Kay (Antwine) Powers (b. March 9th, 1971). In 1974, the family moved to Michigan where they lived for over a decade while Earlene began a longstanding career as a travel agent, which she enthusiastically pursued until her retirement. In their retirement years, Lynn and Earlene settled in Houston, Texas, where they attended Champions Church of Christ and delighted in hosting countless family gatherings and holidays. In July 2024, they moved to their cottage built on the property of their eldest son in Waxahachie.
Earlene was devoted to creating a warm, welcoming home for her family. She was known for her kind heart, strong faith, and generous spirit. She enjoyed listening to music, attending church, sewing, painting, and traveling. Her greatest joy came from cooking, baking, gardening, and sharing these passions with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Lynn Antwine, three children and their spouses: Rick and Lesa Antwine, Rob and Tammy Antwine, and Stephanie and Keith Powers; eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jenelle (Landrum) Ochsner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mildred Landrum, as well as her sisters Letha (Landrum) Franklin and Janice (Landrum) Smith.
