Alice Faye
Garrett
April 7, 1935 – May 23, 2026
Alice Faye (Pillow) Garrett, age 91, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026. Born on April 7, 1935, in Atlanta, Texas, she lived a life rooted in faith, love, kindness, and devotion to her family.
She made her home in Waxahachie, Texas. Alice was a devoted Christian whose greatest joy was serving the Lord. She especially cherished hearing the Word preached by her son in law, Pastor Dewayne Rasor. Those who worshiped alongside her will remember her heartfelt praise, lifted hands, and joyful singing. Her love for Jesus was evident in both her life and her encouragement to others.
Known for her warm smile, sweet spirit, and outgoing personality, Alice never met a stranger. She was loved by many in her church family and community for her kindness, compassion, and genuine interest in others. She had a special way of making people feel welcome and cared for.
Alice enjoyed keeping up with current events by watching the news and found delight in watching HGTV home makeover programs. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and loved seeing the generations of her family grow.
She is survived by her sisters, Joyce Hornsberger and Judy Davis; her children, Keith Farmer and his wife Robin, and Karen Rasor and her husband Dewayne; and her beloved niece, Sharon, whom she raised as her own daughter, and her husband James.
She was a proud grandmother to Aron Rasor and his wife, Ashley; Joseph Rasor and his wife, Krystal; Camy Garcia and her husband, Jose; and Cristen Brown and her husband, Trevor.
She was further blessed with great-grandchildren Leah Rasor and her fiancé, Jude Castillo; Tara Rasor; Mason Farmer; Faith Broussard; Mathias Garcia; and Abilene Rasor. She also leaves behind her cherished great-great-grandchildren, Sadie Castillo and Joseph Castillo.
Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marion (Shakey) Garrett, and her parents, E.H. and Thelma Pillow, along with other loved ones who welcomed her into Heaven.
While her family mourns her passing, they rejoice in knowing that she is now reunited with Marion and is forever in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her legacy of faith, love, praise, and kindness will continue to live on through her family, church family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caregiver, Teresa Ybarra, for the compassionate care, kindness, and friendship she provided.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
The family finds comfort in knowing that the voice that once lifted songs of praise in church is now singing in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly.
We extend our gratitude to the church family for their love and support. To learn more about the church, visit alwchurch.com.
